This divisive movie-watching habit starts in childhood, says a new survey

A survey of 2,000 American adults who celebrate Halloween found that more than two-thirds (68%) of Americans surveyed enjoyed horror movies as children, and that number is still strong at 73% today.

An overwhelming majority (84%) of respondents agree that scary movies are a staple of the Halloween season.

During “spooky season,” Americans watch an average of five different scary movies, though 23% will enjoy 10 or more.
